Screening

All potential candidates undergo an extensive three stage interview process and background examination. A candidate must pass through all three stages successfully and have a positive background referral confirmation. Also, all candidates must have a valid State of California "Guard Card" that ensures they have successfully passed the fingerprint analysis and criminal background check by the California Department of Justice and the nationwide criminal background search conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In addition, we go further to check the background of our candidates. Through background investigation organizations, we are able to do the following additional research:

  • Social Security Number Trace – An examination of the candidate’s social security number will confirm the validity of the number, the candidate’s identity and last known address.
  • Criminal Background Check – A criminal background check of the last three known counties where the candidate has resided and worked in is done to look for any criminal activity.
  • Previous Employer Reference Verification – Verbal and/or written contact is made with all listed employers. Gaps in employment are discussed in detail with the candidate.
  • Verification of Education – Identified educational sources are checked to confirm the candidate’s educational experience and abilities.
  • Motor Vehicle Record – The California Department of Motor Vehicle files are researched to determine any negative activity relating to the driving record of the candidate. Many times, a driver’s history can provide excellent insight into their character.

As a final and very important step, the candidate is given a drug test. The test is performed by an independent medical facility and we screen for the following drugs:

  • Marijuana
  • Cocaine
  • Amphetamines
  • Phencyclidine (PCP)
  • Opiates

All of the activities done during the hiring and background processing are documented on an assignment sheet that verifies the supporting due diligence information and that the candidate has met all contractual and/or stated background requirements.
